Rip Hunter, a member of Time Masters, a chronology protection organization, deflates after his family was murdered by Vandal Savage. In order to stop Savage, Hunter is recruiting a team consisting of Ray Palmer / Atom, Sara Lance / White Canary, Martin Stein and Jefferson "Jax" Jackson / Firestorm, Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl, Carter Hall / Hawkman, Leonard Snart / Captain Cold and Mick Rory / Heat Wave. After discovering that the masters of time supported Savage, they destroyed them all; although they're losing Snart and Rip in the process.
In the second season, with the Time Masters defeated, the team keeps the timeline itself, while facing the disappearance of Rip. However, they are plagued by the Legion of Doom, a roaming team led by Reverse Flash (Eobard Thawne), which has recruited versions of Damien Darhk, Malcolm Merlyn, and Leonard Snart to find Destiny's biblical spear, with which they can change their destiny. A member of the Justice Society of America joins the team
Amaya Jiwe / Vixen and the modern historian Nate Heywood / Steel, who later acquires the power to become a solid metal.
During the third season, the team discovers that it has created anachronisms over time after defeating the Legion, although Rip formed the Time Office to help fix them. He also tells them that Nora Darhk has resurrected her father, Damien, and recruited the ugly granddaughter of Amaya, Kuasa, and the enemy of Flash Gorilla Grodd in order to free the Mallus demon. Even if the team loses Firestorm, they are joined by Zari Tomaz, a hacktivist from 2042 who handles an amulet that controls the air, and by Wally West / Kid Flash, a speedster trained under the flash. The Time Bureau agent, then director, Ava Sharpe, also begins working closely with the team and contacts Sara Lance. After defeating Mallus, Amaya returns home to Zambesi and Wally leaves to find his own way.
During the fourth season, occult detective John Constantine joins the team to help track down magical fugitives scattered throughout the timeline after the team's fight against Mallus. Along the way, they discover that the events surrounding the creatures have been orchestrated by the Neron demon, whom Constantine has already faced. The legends are joined by Charlie, the shapeshifter, who remains in the physical form of Amaya after losing his powers, and Mona Wu, who has the ability to turn into Kaupe.

The potential series would be marked by several recurring characters from both Arrow and The flashincluding Palmer, Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller) and Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber). In March 2015, Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen / Green Arrow in Arrow, confirmed that the series would air in the mid-season 2015-2016. In addition, Kreisberg said that more information would be revealed about the nature of the series by the end of the year. Arrow& # 39;s third season, especially the reason why Lotz must appear, given his previous character, Sara, was killed early in Arrow season three.(48) Berlanti also said that there was a special reason for the other half of Firestorm – Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell), as seen on The flash– not to be mentioned in the announcement of the initial distribution.(49) As for the series, Berlanti said that it was designed to be "very similar to our crossover episodes, where you feel like" infidelity ", but all the time. with), it's about "how is it his own thing?" because we do not just want to do it to do it. "He also revealed that the producers were focusing on" the fact of s & # 39; 39 ensure that the villain we have on the show is also distinct … another great character that has not been used yet ".(50) Also in March, it was revealed that Dominic Purcell was resuming his role as Heat Wave in the series,(29) and Blake Neely, composer of Arrow and The flash, would serve as a composer.(51) At the end of the month, Arthur Darvill was chosen to play Rip Hunter, one of the "new characters on television", DC(11) while Ciara Renee has been interpreted as Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl.(18) In April 2015, in a Variety article on the recent MipTV event, he noted that the title of the series would Legends of tomorrow, although it is still not confirmed by the people involved in the series.(52) Also in the month, Franz Drameh was chosen in the role of Jax Jackson.(15)

Klemmer also highlighted the challenges of creating multiple crossovers, as Amell and Gustin work all day for their respective shows. Klemmer explained that Laurel Lance's death occurred the day after Arrow would "resonate in season 2 … (since) something happens on Arrow can create ripples that appear on our show in a huge way. This fundamentally alters the DNA of our series. "(63) The second season initially included 13 episodes,(64) with four others ordered in November 2016 to bring the season total to 17.(65)

(The first episode of season two) will really be a new driver with new guys, new bad guys, new stakes, a new dynamic, new goals, and the team will have to find a new goal. save the world, what will you do? The fact that the world is in danger has forced our team to adopt its own dysfunctional version of Lockstep Season 2: they will no longer be hunted by Time Masters They will not be overwhelmed anymore save the world There will be no question of saving Miranda and Jonas What is interesting about Season 2 is that I will have a very different tone because our Legends will have a totally different purpose They will have a totally different constitution, there will be new faces and they will not do everything. The new facet of legends was that there is no # 1 (actor) on the sheet of call. There are seven or eight tracks. For me, it was the intimidating part. I was not as worried about the action and tone I had with all those personalities and how they all worked together. Or, how to shoot a scene with eight people in Waverider, day after day.(76)
He stated that the style of the series was filming on the pitch rather than shooting mainly on a sound stage.
As in any pilot, most of the time, you pull more on the spot. Because you do not necessarily know if you are going to have a replay show, they do not want to invest a lot of money in the infrastructure, so you pull more on the set. The only game that was built was the Waverider. That being said, as we knew that there was a van for the show, it was not a classic driver. All construction resources went to the Waverider. This continues in the series. I do not think that they tend to build a lot. I think they tend to adapt the places because there are so many trips back in time and many times to create.(76)
The pilot project has been well examined for its potential. Russ Burlingame of ComicBook.com said: "The series offers a crisp and enjoyable driver that is arguably the most captivating and entertaining of all current superhero shows."(83) Jesse Schedeen of IGN gave the first part of the pilot episode a 7.7 / 10, praising the "epic reach" of the series, the "dynamic of the funny characters" and of the performance of Arthur Darvill;(84) and gave the second part of the pilot a rating of 8.4 / 10, claiming that she "had improved in her second floor thanks to the dynamics of the characters and the action of the superheroes ".(85)

"(88)
The third season enjoys an 88% approval rate on rotten tomatoes, with an average rating of 7.95 / 10 based on 8 reviews. The consensus of the website reads as follows: "DC's Legends of Tomorrow Lightens the tone in its third season while highlighting adventurous intrigue and a distinct sense of humor. "(89) IGN gave the season an approval rating of 8.1 / 10, indicating: "When Legends of tomorrow works, it's easily among the best superhero shows on TV (otherwise shows in general). Unfortunately, although season 3 has reached impressive heights, it has also provided some of the weakest installments in the series. Season 3 has finally suffered from its inability to create a conflict worthy of this cast of unsuitable heroes, and this casts a shadow that will continue when the series returns for season 4. "(90)
