The true ketogenic diet calculator

You will see that many websites claiming to be masters of the ketogenic diet try to tell you that there is an EXACT amount of fat, protein and carbohydrate that you have to absorb or dump! This is just not true. What really matters is the relationship between the ketogenic and anti-ketogenic foods that you consume. That's why an engineer worked on this calculator to make it fully customizable!

The right macros

I know that the ketogenic diet can be quite complex to follow at the beginning if you do not know anything about calories. I've created this calculator to help you determine the number of grams of each macro-nutrient you need daily.

The nutrient intake of a ketogenic diet generally has the effect of about 70-75% of calories from fat, 20-25% of protein and 5-10% of carbohydrates on a daily basis.

How to use this calculator

1. You must first know how many calories a day. To understand this, simply use our daily caloric intake calculator and follow the instructions. It will give you the amount of calories needed to maintain your weight, lose 1 or 2 pounds a week or earn 1 or 2 pounds a week.

2. Find your macros:

Simply enter the amount of calories you have calculated previously. Then you can see your results immediately.

I've set this calculator to use 5% carbohydrates, 22.5% protein and 72.5% fat by default, which will give you a K / AK ratio of 1.85. Feel free to modify the numbers according to your needs as this calculator is fully customizable. All you have to do is make sure that your K / AK (ketogenic to anti-ketogenic) * last line of the calculator * is greater than 1.5!

Do not forget that eating too much protein, as I explain in more detail under the keto calculator, will produce glucose and you will eliminate ketosis.

Since everyone is different, you can keep track of your results and find out if you are in ketosis using keto strips.

The theory used for this Keto calculator

Some foods are ketogenic and others are anti-ketogenic.

Carbohydrates are 100% anti-ketogenicwhich means that they completely turn into glucose once digested.

Fats are ketogenic at 90%, which means that 10% of the fat will turn into glucose in the blood once digested.

Proteins are 46% ketogenic and 58% anti-ketogenic. which means that 58% of the ingested proteins will turn into glucose in the blood.

Keep in mind that although the ketogenic diet ratio is absolutely necessary for the induction of the ketogenic diet, it is not as important for the general diet population.
